WALKING AMONGST THE SHADOWS: HOUGHTON MANSION

May 22, 2018

Did you ever wonder what it is like to sleep in a haunted mansion? I did, and the experience altered my life's path.

This is the true story of my experiences within Houghton Mansion in North Adams, Massachusetts. Join me in this deeply personal journey - full of incredible highs and devastating lows.

The mansion seemed to be calling me back countless times. I thought that it needed my help - it turned out that I needed the help of the spirits within. I take a nostalgic look back at the many laughs, the unexplained phenomena, the heartbreak, and the impact the mansion and her spirits had on me.

What would you do if you came face to face with the unknown?

THE INHUMANITY OF MAN: THE HATTIE MCCLOUD MURDER

October 4, 2016

Hattie McCloud, a young widow, was returning home from her errands. As she climbed the steep hill, her thoughts were likely on her nine-year-old daughter. Suddenly, a hand grabbed her throat from behind and forced her into the woods. His grip was far too powerful for her to break away. Sadly, she never returned home to her daughter.

A twenty-six-year-old man was arrested for the crime. He was tried by a jury of twelve of his peers. He was found guilty and was sentenced to death. After his execution, people began to question if he actually did commit the crime that cost him his life.

This book examines the lives and deaths of two young people from Buckland, Massachusetts. One was brutally raped, murdered and robbed. The other may have been a victim in the pursuit of justice.

BLUDGEONED: THE REED DOUBLE HOMICIDE

October 4, 2016

On August 7, 1897, two bodies were discovered in a small and cluttered home on a quiet lane in North Adams, Massachusetts.

Henry Reed was sleeping in his bed when he was bludgeoned with a carpenter’s mallet. A gun was taken from under his pillow and used to murder his sister, Blanche.

The detectives were stumped because there were too many people with possible motives. It took three years for suspects to be arrested. A grand jury failed to indict the men.

A determined detective believed he had solved the baffling mystery, only to fall ill and pass away. On his deathbed he named the killers and shocked those gathered. Upon his death, the investigation ended.

The case has never been solved.

THE SHADOWS WITHIN: HOUGHTON MANSION

June 20, 2014

An idyllic mid-summer's morning of August 1, 1914 turned tragic for a prominent family in North Adams, Massachusetts. Four people died as a result of an automobile accident. The spirits of three of these victims have been said to roam the former residence. The walls of Houghton Mansion do talk, and the spirits want their stories told.

This book is a journey into another era. While there were many happy times, unfortunately there were many tragedies faced by the families who left an imprint within the walls of the mansion.

Journey into the hallways of a haunted mansion and come to appreciate the shadows within as people as unique and dynamic as you and I.
